Ellie is a sweet, playful, affectionate girl seeking an active, committed forever home. She has lots of energy and loves outdoor adventures—great for runs, hikes, and other outings. Ellie is intelligent, knows basic commands like “sit” and is fully house-trained. She enjoys morning snuggles, playing with other dogs, and meeting new people. She can be a bit rough during play and may pull on the leash when excited, but she’s improving with help from our dedicated volunteers. She also does very well with cats!
Ellie sometimes picks up or tries to eat rocks outdoors, so she is muzzle-trained for safety. With continued guidance and a stable environment, this behavior should continue to improve. She has shown some reactivity, particularly toward men, so her adopter should give her ample time to decompress and adjust to their home before introducing new people or taking her on outings. We recommend at least one month for her to settle.
To support her success, Ellie will go home with four in-home training sessions from those who've been working with her here at the shelter. She has tremendous potential -needs patience, structure, and a compassionate home where she can feel safe and confident. With the right family, she will thrive.
